Lasith Malinga announced his retirement

Lasith Malinga the Sri Lankan pacer announced his retirement from T20 international cricket.

Malinga officially announced in his twitter account “Hanging up my #T20 shoes and #retiring from all forms of cricket! Thankful to all those who supported me in my journey, and looking forward to sharing my experience with young cricketers in the years to come.”

The Sri Lankan pacer has played 30 test matches, 226 ODIs and 84 T20Is for the country while the last T20 match he played was in March 2020 against West Indies in Pallekele.

Malinga also achieved some astonishing highs, as he has two T20 hat-tricks and he is known as the leading wicket taker along with picking 107 wickets in international T20 cricket.

Moreover in total he picked 546 wickets representing Sri Lanka cricket and he is also entitled for three hat-ricks in ODI cricket matches.

Further he got retired from test matches in 2011 due to work on his fitness and concentrate more into other matches.

Eventually he thanked his supporters on his journey and he wishes to train the youth in coming years. (World Broadcasting)
